I am employed by Ngāti Rangi Community Health Centre in Ohakune, as a Kaupapa Māori Mental Health Kaimahi. I
enrolled in the Te Pū Wānanga o Anamata 2013 applied Māori health co-existing disorders diploma as
part of my professional development and to increase my working knowledge around
co-existing problems.

I am currently employed by Whakatōhea Iwi Social and Health Services as a Whānau Support Worker. Prior to that, I worked for the former Kahunui Trust Residential
Rehabilitation Centre in Ōpōtiki. I have a strong desire to ensure that all
people with co-existing problems have access to top quality services and part
of that requires me to up skill my qualifications.

I am currently studying towards
the Diploma in Maori Health: Co-existing Disorders at Anamata; with the hope of
DAPAANZ registration after completion of the course. I also have a postgraduate
degree in Psychology from the University of Waikato; and hope to register as a
Psychologist in the future.
I have worked in the health and disability
sector for over 7 years undertaking various roles. I am currently working
part-time as a Recovery Support Worker with Recovery Solutions in Rotorua.

I am currently on placement as a Support Worker / Counsellor
with Karldon Trust and Te Utuhina Manaakitanga Trust both located in Rotorua.
My own life experiences with mental health and addiction issues led me to
successfully complete the National Certificate in Mental Health Addiction
Support Work Level 4 and I am currently completing the applied Māori health
co-existing disorders qualification at Anamata.

I have worked in the mental health and AOD sector for a
total of 4 years as a counsellor. I am passionate about the health and welfare
of our people and awhi, tautoko, and manaaaki our Māori whānau who enter the
service seeking help and relief. Anamata has helped to strengthen and improve
my knowledge around people with co-existing disorders.

I currently work for Lifewise Trust Rotorua, a residential
community support for adults who suffer from AOD issues. My role as the
programme coordinator is to ensure the service user participates and engages in
everyday activities and group sessions designed to improve their personal
awareness and life skills as part of their recovery journey. My role is to
ensure the Māori element continues to be practiced within a mainstream
organisation.

I have an extensive background in social work and was
formerly a social worker for the Department of Social Welfare from 1984-1990. I
have also worked in the CYF services in Hamilton, Whakatāne and Ōpōtiki. I am
currently a counsellor and facilitator for prison inmates in Rotorua, Taupō and
Waikeria.

Currently I am a support worker for Lifewise Trust helping people overcome their co-existing disorders. My life experiences in both Australia and New Zealand has given me insight into the struggles some people impacted by co-existing disorders live through and this qualification has prepared me for my role.

I am 23 years young, passionate about youth sports, music
and art. I am currently employed at Te Puna Hauora ki Uta ki Tai, based in
Tauranga Moana as a youth worker, co-ordinating service intake for co-existing
disorders.

I have been employed by Te Utuhina Manaakitanga Trust in
Rotorua, as an AOD support worker for youth. I hope to help youth of all cultures to make

Jozie
has extensive involvement with whanau, hapu and iwi. Currently she
is the chair of the Board of Directors for Te Wheke Atawhai the
Social, Health and Education provider for the iwi of Whakatohea
and a Trustee on the Tuhoe Hauora. The Whakatohea delegate to the
Bay of Plenty DHB Maori Health Runanga and she was appointed this year to
the Whanau Ora Regional Leadership Group for the Bay of
Plenty. She is committed to a iwi specific approach to co-existing
problems utilising interventions derived from iwi tikanga. A national
facilitator for Te Korowai Aroha o Aotearoa, she is also a tutor in the
Bachelor of Primary Teaching Māori Medium and placement co-ordinator for
the CEP diploma at Te Pū Wānanga o Anamata.

Te Rangimaria Warbrick
Te Rangimaria
Warbrick is of Rangitane and Te Arawa descent. He grew up in the Manawatu and
relocated to the Bay of Plenty over eight years ago. In 1992 he graduated from
the Taha Māori Programme at Queen Mary Hospital in Hanmer and has been on a
recovery journey for over twenty years.
Te Rangimaria has held a Team Leader position at Te Whare Oranga Ngākau the Midland Kaupapa Māori Addiction Residential Centre at Te Utuhina Manaakitanga Trust in Rotorua and he is currently the Team Leader at Tūhoe Hauora in Tāneatua.
Dr Candy Cookson-Cox
Candy, is of Te Arawa and Kai
Tahu descent has had a long and distinguished association with the education
and health sector both in New Zealand and overseas. Candy is currently involved
in a number of workforce development initiatives for Anamata, and serves on a
variety of Boards and community groups associated with supporting Māori
initiatives that advance health and education.
